An injured toe

I injured my toe going into the water at around... 2 seconds into the swim 😅. My swim pace was above average, I was feeling great until the time when the timing chip was falling off my ankle. I spent quite some time fixing the chip in the open water but later removed it from my ankle and inserted it inside my trunks. Inside the transition area I went looking for someone to help me fix the strap of the chip but it seemed no one knew where I should go. After about 5 minutes I found the man who could fix my strap, he gave me a new chip 😊 but later found out after the race that it added some 3 minutes in my total time. The incident affected me mentally because I was trying to finish in 5 hours 40 minutes and my margin for error was almost zero.
The bike leg went uneventful which was fine as I was simply enjoying and admiring the surrounding of the bike course. The bike leg always reminded me of the beauty of triathlon venues and how blessed I am participating in this kind of event.
The run leg isn’t much hotter than the preceding years but I wasn’t prepared to run in general. I think the event was a huge success simply by moving the swim location to a different place. So what do you think was the biggest take from this event? Tadaa.... it was announced that there would be an Ironman race in 2020! - 226 kilometers of fun 🏊🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️😅

Swim: 30 minutes
Considering the condition at the time, I had an average swim

Bike: 1 hour 17 minutes
The course wasn’t that hard and I was expecting a time of at least 1:15 but... more practice I guess 🚴🏻‍♀️

Run: 47 minutes
It was really flat and identical to last month’s National Age Group route
I was lucky, someone was just seconds behind me.

GoPro Hero 8 Road Bike Training

I am starting a YouTube Channel - Please subscribe for more videos.
This is a road bike test of my new GoPro Hero 8. I mounted it on the left aero bar. I was originally planning to use a chest harness for mounting the GoPro but the nature of riding in an aero position prevented me from using it. Before I stopped running on June 2019, cycling was my weakest part in triathlon. If you are new to triathlon or cycling be patient enough to wait for the time when you'll get fast. You will get stronger as the years of training pile up. It is quite difficult to become a strong cyclist because it really takes time to train, something that most of us do not have but if you enjoy cycling activity enough you are giving yourself a tremendous chance to improve and enjoy triathlon.

5150 Subic Bay Triathlon 2019

I am starting a Youtube Channel - Please subscribe for more videos. This is what I experienced on October 26-27, 2019. I haven’t been run training for the past 5 months but really glad to finish in 2 hours 44 minutes. This could well be my last standard distance race as I feel I wouldn’t be able to train for the run with my current condition. I may try sprint distances in the future though.

and a slight change in the bike course will be applied

I’m really glad I joined this event, seeing old and new faces

It’s an honor to be sandwiched by these two gentlemen
It’s always a blessing to be part of an event like this

I have a slow swim time of 33 minutes which is totally expected because of my lack of proper training prior to NAGT

Considering my conditioning, I’m really lucky to clock 1:10 on the bike

My legs aren’t up for a PR obviously; there is a bit of pain on my legs
and my usual side stitch is present. I’ve been given the opportunity to run side by side
with Miss Kim Kilgroe at one point but she’s just way faster.
52 minutes on a course where a think I can get close to 45 minutes ;)
Total time: 2:42
